NASENI Plans Exhibition Of Indigenous Technologies
The Director-General, National Agency for
Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Dr Sani Haruna, says the
agency will partner Kogi State to organise a science and technology trade fair
in Lokoja.
Haruna told Gov. Idris Wada in Lokoja that
the move was to encourage foreign and local investors in the area of science
and technology utilisation and projects.
The director-general, who said the fair
would hold in the last quarter of 2012, also listed areas of possible cooperation
with the state.
He said that the exhibition would enhance
the job creation efforts of the state government and boost its internally
generated revenue.
Haruna, however, sought the support and
patronage of the government for some of the activities of NASENI, especially
its Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI in
Okene.
Responding, the state governor, Idris Wada
said he would get some ministries in the state to work with the agency for the
benefit of the people.
Wada also promised to look into the request
for the titles on the PEEMADI permanent site in Okene and applauded the agency
for providing employment opportunities for some of the indigenes of the state.
