NNEW Plans Training For 800 Women Entrepreneurs
The NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) has announced the launch of the Women in Digital Business training programme designed to empower 800 women entrepreneurs through digital literacy and business innovation.
A statement by NNEW made available to The Tide’s source said the initiative, sponsored by the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation and Microsoft Philanthropies, represents a significant step towards fostering economic growth and sustainability among women-led businesses.
The training programme, launched in July, targets women entrepreneurs with over six months of business experience seeking to enhance their digital skills for growth.
Participants must be proficient in English and commit at least 25 hours over five weeks to complete the training.
According to the statement, women entrepreneurs will explore digital business solutions that will be relevant to the effectiveness of their enterprises and gain insights into the digital transformation of their business processes and people.
The President of NNEW, Mrs. Adefunke Kuyoro, said, “We are thrilled to partner with ITC-ILO and Microsoft Philanthropies on the Women in Digital Business initiative to offer this empowering programme to women entrepreneurs.
“By equipping them with essential digital skills and innovative business strategies, we aim to bridge the digital divide, create opportunities for women entrepreneurs, and enhance their capacity to succeed in today’s digital economy”.
Kuyoro further said the programme is a testament to NNEW’s commitment to empowering women in business and fostering inclusive economic growth.
Also, the Programme Director, Mrs. Bukky Femi-Ajala said, “The Women in Digital Business(WIDB) programme consists of 10 online training sessions and self-paced learning modules on a dedicated portal.
“Participants will gain valuable insights and practical skills to enhance their business operations, increase efficiency, and drive growth in the digital economy”.
