Nigeria Hosts Africa Energy Bank

Nigeria will host the newly established Africa Energy Bank (AEB), prevailing over three other competing countries to become the multilateral lender’s home.
This was revealed in a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (State), and made available to newsmen, in Abuja, at the weekend.
The statement said the final decision, made at the meeting of the Special Council of Ministers of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO) places Nigeria, the Africa’s leading oil producer, at the forefront of Africa’s energy landscape.
Speaking, Minister of Petroleum Resources, Oil, Heineken Lokpobiri,said “African Energy Bank will be a cornerstone for financing and advancing energy projects across Africa, promoting innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.
“This is a remarkable victory for Nigeria and the entire African continent, symbolising our collective efforts to harness and develop our rich energy resources for a brighter, more sustainable future”.
Lokpobiri explained that the institution “will be a cornerstone for financing and advancing energy projects across Africa”.
