AKSG Urges Farmers To Utilise Farming Inputs For Bountiful Harvest
Akwa Ibom State Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has disbursed farm inputs and assets to farmers in OrukAnam Local Government Area. Presenting the items to the farmers, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr.OffiongOffor said governments always has its citizens at heart over their preparedness to boost agricultural production, both in crop and animal husbandry.
The commissioner who was represented by the Head of AK – CARES Result Area 2, Mr. Richard Sam, advised the beneficiaries to make sure utilise the farming inputs for their goods, for them to experience bountiful harvest towards curbing the current high prices of food items. She informed them that in line with the guidelines of the AK-CARES phase 2 programmes, three inspection teams will closely monitor the progress of the farm or small scale enterprise in their goodwill message, The Director, Animal Husbandry, Dr. Namokuo Orok, the Secretary NkaUnawak Association Mrs.Ekaette Sunday commended Governor Eno hands of followship to Oruk anam farmers, saying they would not disappoint them and make sure they are used very well for their farms to produce more food across the State.
They said government would not forget farmers across the rural areas while utilising the farming input for their own advantage.
