Community Lauds Diri’s First Term Achievements …Upbeat On More Infrastructural Projects
The Elebele Community of the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has continued to thank the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for the provision of infrastructural projects in the community in his first term in office.
Speaking through its Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, Mr Precious Okala, Wednesday, the community lauded the State Governor over what they christened his magnanimity in reconstructing the hitherto collapsed Elebele bridge within the first one year in office.
According to the community, “that Governor Diri was overwhelmingly re-elected for a second term by the community should not be a surprise to any body”.
The CDC helmsman also noted that the Governor’s unpretentious love for the community was incomparable in the anals of the state’s leadership, saying that the recent renovation and promise by the Government to upgrade the existing community health centre, Elebele, to a cottage hospital would be a plus to the state’s infrastructural drive.
“As a community, we believe that after the swearing-in ceremony of the Governor for a second term, come February 14th, 2024, he’ll swing into greater action in his infrastructural drive.
“This community is PDP, and PDP is this community. We voted en masse for the governor’s second term bid, and we thank God he won in this community convincingly.
“When the Elebele steel bridge collapsed prior to the 2019 gubernatorial polls in the state, the then Government never contemplated a reconstruction. But within Governor Diri’s first one year in office he magnanimously awarded and reconstructed the bridges which links the three LGAs in the Bayelsa East Senatorial district.
“We also believe that the Governor would continue to keep to his words by fulfilling his promises of providing the transformer he promised this community during his recent visit to the community.
“This would enable all parts of the community to enjoy stable power supply”, the community said.
