Security Outfit Hails LG Boss Over Support
The Emohua Local Government Vigilante Services ( EMOLVIS), has commended the Chairman of the local government council, Dr Chidi Lloyd for the massive logistics support his administration has been giving the security outfit to combat criminality in the area within the past one year. The security outfit marked its one year anniversary last Friday.
The Commander of EMOLVIS, Commander Chidi Agi, who gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Emohua Town specifically thanked the council chairman for providing the necessary logistics support and stipends to personnel of the outfit, which he noted had enhanced its smooth operations.
He said without such vital interventions alongside the support of other stakeholders, the security outfit would not have been able to record significant milestones in the fight against criminality in the area within the past one year, and praised the council chairman in particular for his consistency, forthrightness and tenacity of purpose, and for always being there for the outfit.
Agi, however, solicited for the continuous support and cooperation of the people of the local government to the security outfit to enable it to continue to work towards attracting development and social cohesion to the area.
He said the security outfit has continued to work in synergy with other sister conventional security agencies in the area to restore the confidence of the people in the fight against criminality.
According to him, in the last one year, EMOLVIS had assisted the police to crack down notorious criminal elements like Nwodi from Elibrada community who was recently gunned down by the police, contending that the notorious criminal was terrorising the East- West Road axis of the local government before he met his waterloo.
He further hinted that the security outfit while working in concert with the police had equally nabbed another notorious criminal, who he simply described as a small boy, who wanted to take over from the late Nwodi in inflicting terror and mayhem on members of the public within the axis.
Agi disclosed that the criminal is now cooling his heels in police custody, assuring that the security outfit would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the protection of the lives and property of the people as well as restoring peace to the local government.
He, therefore, enjoined the people of the local government to give their maximum support and cooperation to the vigilante security operatives in order to clean up and rid the area of criminality.
The commander used the opportunity to appeal for more logistics support to the security outfit so as to overcome some nagging challenges facing it.
According to him, the outfit needs constant mobility of the operatives to enhance their movement as they comb and patrol the nooks and crannies of the local government.
He said the security outfit also needs general security gadgets to assist in information gathering, intelligence and communication, and stressed the need for training and retraining of personnel of the outfit as a way of boosting their operational capacity and efficiency with a view to achieving the overall objectives of the security outfit.
