A’Ibom To Tackle Insecurity In Public Schools
Akwa Ibom State Government says it will tackle insecurity in Public Secondary School across the State.
Chairman Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board, Rt. Hon. Ekaette Ebong Okon, made this known in an interview with media practitioners shortly after a 3-day sensitization seminar on Insecurity in Public Schools in Uyo.
He said it is necessary to tackle the issue as it would create peaceful learning environment for the students without witnessing any threat for them to achieve their educational pursuit.
According to her, despite the uphill task, government would not relent to enable the students achieve their educational dreams, while the parents also have vital role to play over their children’s education.
Also speaking, the President of Ancops, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Steve Akpabio, commended Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board for what he called their tremendous hardwork to make sure that insecurity is tackled across schools in the State.
He assured that they will do their best to mould the students to have good character for them to become good leaders in future.
He used the fora to appeal for the Board to permit them carry out biometric capture of students across the State.
The special assistant to the Governor on education monitoring, Mr. Udeme Udofia, said “insecurity is a threat to our children’s education and government would not fail to protect them.”
The 3-day sensitization was themed “Insecurity in Public Secondary Schools in Akwa Ibom State”.
