Rivers Angels Promise Fans Total Victory In Akure
Twenty Twenty One Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions, Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt have reassured fans of the club that they will open the second phase of the 2021/2022 season with a total victory as they face host Akure Queens today.
The encounter, which is one of the week 8 fixtures, is scheduled to hold at the Akure Township Stadium, Ondo State.
The Angels are in high spirit as they are poised and determined for a total win in today’s showdown with their Akure counterparts.
The Jewels of Rivers promised to leave no-stone unturned in the second stanza of the League and to keep to their promise, the visitors have said that they will garner all three points at stake in today’s game.
Earlier, head Coach of Rivers Angels FC, Edwin Okon said that his team is ready for the second phase of the League.
” We are prepared for this phase and today’s match would be a fulfilment of our promise, because we are going for total victory,” Okon said.
On the other hand, the host side, Akure Queens would no doubt slug it out with their visitors, having the home advantage with their fans cheering them to victory, they might have the day or at least shared the available points with their guest.
Rivers Angels FC is currently leading their group, Group B with 13 points from six matches played so far in the first round of the league.
It would be recalled that Rivers Angels defeated their opponent 2-1 in the first leg ot the game against Sunshine Queens at the UNIPORT Spots Complex and the reverse match will be played today in Akure.
