Tai Begins Construction Of Two Markets
The Chairman, Tai Local Government Area, Hon Mkoakpeno Okpe has begun the process of construction of two markets in the area with a commitment that his administration would exhibit utmost transparency and accountability in the execution of the projects.
Okpe made this disclosure recently at the council headquarters, Saakpenwa, during the bidding process for two markets to be built by his administration.
The markets being embarked upon by the council include Oporoma and Bitem Tai.
While speaking on the programme, he said the markets, when completed, would boost economic base of the council, saying that his administration was determined to transform all communities and villages in the LGA with little resources accruing to the council.
The council boss promised to complement the efforts of the state government led by Chief Nyesom Wike in the areas of security, infrastructure and human capital development, adding that the dividends of democracy remain the core mandate of his administration.
“No community will be left out in this drive to transform the area by the government. The essence of the bidding is to award the contract to competent hands that will deliver on schedule”.
The Tai council boss urged the affected communities to give maximum support to the contractors to deliver on time, and warned those engaged in illegal bunkering often called ‘Kpo fire’ to desist as its consequences are disastrous.
“The directive of the state government to wipe out illegal refineries must be followed without compromise in Tai LGA”, he said.
