Police Arrest OSPAC Members For Alleged Destruction Of Property
A combined team of police detectives from Egbeda Police Division in Rivers State have arrested some members of OSPAC, a local vigilante in Omudioga, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State for allegedly destroying houses and properties belonging to the Chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC), A. C. Azuwone, and other natives.
The Tide gathered that the police arrested the alleged OSPAC members over the weekend, following official reports made by the CDC chairman and other affected indigenes of Umudioga community.
Speaking to journalists in an interview with in Umudioga, the CDC chairman explained that he was in his house last Saturday night when people OSPAC members invaded his compound, and attempted to force themselves in, but could not because of the burglary proof.
According to Azuwone, the alleged OSPAC member and other members of the community, who were perceived to be his supporters, shattered the glasses in his house.
The Umudioga CDC chairman further accused some stakeholders in the community, who were against his administration, for working with OSPAC unit in the area to destabilize the community, saying that the latest attack on him and some members of the community was in respect of his support for the call that OSPAC members in the area to go for profiling at the LGA council as directed by the Emohua Local Government Chairman, High Chief Tom Aliezi, before they will continue their operation in the community.
When contacted, the Spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, said the command was yet have a brief from the Egbeda division.
