New RSNC GM Tasks Staff On Commitment To Duty
The new General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide Group of Newspapers, Chief Ernest Chinwo, has charged staff to show more commitment to duty, and exercise discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Speaking during the official handing over ceremony at the Boardroom of the corporation, last Friday, Chinwo said his appointment was a call to service, and urged the staff to give him their support to take The Tide to greater heights.
The general manager, who used the opportunity to preside over his maiden management meeting of the corporation, challenged the staff to improve on their skills, and do things differently to achieve set goals.
Chinwo, expressed deep appreciation for the warmth reception accorded him, and commended the efforts of the staff and management in keeping The Tide afloat.
He called for more commitment on the part of the staff to achieve the objectives of the corporation as a public service establishment.
He said; “I’ve not come to boss anybody but to join hands with all of you, and through our collective efforts, The Tide will achieve its objectives”.
The new general manager cautioned against laxity, truancy and gossips, and urged staff to be focused on their duties as efforts would be made to ensure a more conducive working environment for them.
Earlier, the Acting Editor, The Tide (Daily) and former Interim General Manager of the corporation, Mrs Juliet Njiowhor, had during the formal handing over ceremony, congratulated the new general manager on his appointment, and assured the support of the staff and management to enable him succeed.
Highlights of the event were a facility tour of the corporation by the new General Manager and a maiden management meeting.
