Honorary Degree Excites Monarch, Promises To Assist Varsity
The Chairman of Igbo Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Cletus Ikechukwu Ilomuanya, has expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu, the Senate and Governing Council for conferring him an honorary degree at the 32nd Convocation Ceremony of the institution.
The appreciation, which was conveyed in a letter dated April 18, 2019 and signed by the monarch is coming barely two weeks after he was conferred with the Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) at the convocation ceremony.
The traditional ruler, who is also the Chancellor of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi described the award as a noble one, adding that it is an honour he would continually cherish.
He said in furtherance to the appreciation done him, he had started consultations with his friends and associates on possible ways of assisting the university actualise its laudable initiatives, stressing that, in no distant time, he would revert back to the institution on their response.
