Rivers PDP Denies Destroying Lulu- Briggs’ Campaign Posters
The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has denied claims by governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs that his campaign posters were being destroyed by members of the ruling party in the State.
The State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah made the denial while reacting to comments by Chief Lulu-Briggs when he featured on a Radio programme in Port Harcourt at the weekend, describing the accusation as false, misleading and a figment of his imagination.
Obuah in a statement issued by his media aide, Jerry Needam and obtained by The Tide said that he was not surprised at such attacks from the Accord Party standard bearer, describing him as a joker who cannot win election in the state.
The statement reads, “Dumo Lulu-Briggs is a serial election loser. He thinks it is the All Progressives Congress, APC, where he was incubated and midwifed, where hooliganism is a culture.”
”We in the PDP are civil, matured and responsible, and would not belittle ourselves by tampering with other political party candidates’ posters. In his imagination, he forgets that Rivers State is not some APC controlled states where billboards and posters of the PDP candidates are destroyed at will”, he stated.
The State PDP Chairman slammed Dumo Lulu-Briggs for reeling out what he termed ‘false statistical index on employment, poverty and insecurity’ in the State, wondering how he can win elections when the party does not have campaign offices in any of the local government areas in the state.
Obuah further said the state governor has done well and Rivers people would vote massively for him and all the PDP candidates in the coming general elections.
”How can he (Dumo Lulu-Briggs) claim to run election when he does not have campaign offices in any of the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State? Does he know that the Accord Party does not have candidates in all the elective offices for the forthcoming general elections?
”How can a candidate like Dumo boast of winning election in Rivers State, with what? Politics is a game of number, and Barr. Lulu-Briggs does not have the number, Bro Obuah said.
”Let Dumo Lulu-Briggs understand that the PDP is recognized in all the 4,442 Electoral Units and has offices in the 319 Wards in the State. PDP also has campaign offices in all the Chapters and local government areas in the State”, he noted.
Obuah also said that the embattled Accord Party governorship candidate cannot win election even in his own Unit and cannot match Governor Nyesom Wike who has done so much for Rivers people and has positively touched lives and put smiles on the faces of Rivers People.
