NIMASA Honours Dangote, Otedola, Others
Two frontline industrialists and business magnates, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and Mr. Femi Otedola and two royal fathers, the Emir of Kano, Mallam Sanusi Lamido, and His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi were among dignitaries to be conferred with the Nigerian Maritime Administrative and Safety Agency (NIMASA) merit award this Saturday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Also to be honoured by the agency include the former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd), Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, and the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi among other notable Nigeria.
NIMASA, in a statement made availabe to The Tide last Thursday also said the governors of Lagos, Ogun, Enugu, Ondo, Kaduna, Kebbi and Borno states as well as some ministers are also expected at the occasion.
The event which is tagged “NIMASA Merit Awards and Corporate Dinner” would be hosted by the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and chaired by the SGP, Mr Boss Mustapha.
The statement added that some of the awardees would be recognised for their outstanding contributions to the realisation of the agency’s mandate of driving the sector in 2018.
The NIMASA merit award categories include Shipping Company of the Year 2018 (Dry Cargo), Shipping Company of the Year 2018 (Wet Cargo), Maritime Education and Training Institute of the Year 2018, Manning Agent of the Year 2018, and Seafarers’ Employer of the Year 2018.
The statement added that staff of the agency would be honoured for their outstanding performances and an Employee of the Year will be picked from the 11 winners of the Employee of the Month awards from January to November, 2018.
