Foundation Donates Security Vehicles To Police
Etche/America Foundation, an umbrella body of Etche indigenes residing in the United States of America has donated two security operational vehicles to the Rivers State Police Command.
Receiving the two vehicles on behalf of the State Police Command in Port Harcourt, last Friday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Administration and Finance, DCP Okoro commended members of the organisation for the donation, adding that the vehicles would help the command to fight crime in the state.
Okoro while thanking them for the gesture urged other organisations, groups and bodies to emulate the patriotic spirit and concern exhibited by the Etche/America Foundation, adding that the issue of security cannot be left in the hands of government alone.
Earlier in his speech, the President of Etche/America Foundations, Mr Dominic Amaugwu, disclosed that the donation was the organisation’s support to the Police to fight crime in Etche axis as well as the State at large.
Amaugwu stated that the group resolved to assist the division in the area with operational vehicles as its contributions to the ongoing war against crime, adding that the division was lacking in both manpower and logistics.
He opined that lack of arms and vehicles have contributed immensely to the great challenges Police in the area encountered in fighting crime and other social vices.
