Badminton Championship: Gold Medalist Attributes Success To Hard Work
Nigerian Africa number two male Badminton player, Opeyori Anu has attributed his success to hard work, at the just concluded First Governor Wike National Badminton Championship held in Port Harcourt.
Anu, who is also Nigeria number one that won the championship in male category, explained that frequent training also helped him to achieve the feat, adding that good player must train and be fit during competition.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Tidesports last Saturday at the First Governor National Badminton Championships shortly after the closing ceremony, at the Diete Spiff Sports Complex, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
The champion said he is poised to make Nigeria proud at the forthcoming African Badminton Championship, slated to hold in Port Harcourt, April next year.
“My main aim is to make a different in the African Championships come 2019”, Anu said.
He revealed that Rivers State is the first State that has used six courts in a championship, in Nigeria.
Anu lauded the state government for given the opportunity to showcase their talent, saying the state government has done well, most especially in the area of sports development.
