Websites, Vital For Growing SMEs – Expert
A website designer Ayodeji Babatunde, on Tuesday said websites are veritable tools for small and medium scale enterprises to flourish in a global business environment.
Babatunde, who works in Anderson and Associates, a website service company, made this known during an interview with newsmen in Abuja.
He said that the idea of websites was to bridge the gap between the SMEs and their target audience.
“Any business that wants to grow in the international scene must of a necessity operate a website address that cuts across boundaries.
“Many elites today go to the internet to make their purchases because of the lack of time and the convenience of shopping online.
“So it does not matter what it is that is sold, the era of door to door advertising has gone and people make it better in the business world now because of the wide reach of the internet,’’ Babatunde said.
Babatunde said that the company specialises in creating affordable websites for small and medium scale businesses “because they are the main stay of the economy’’.
“We try to bridge the gap between the SMEs and their targeted market.
“We’ve noticed that it could be very difficult for SMEs to reach out to their target markets; they cannot cough out a whooping N200, 000 to N300, 000 to start up a professional website.
“So we came up with a solution in three packages: the Basic website, the Premium and the Pro. The basic website is as cheap as 10,000 for set up and 5,000 for subscription.”
“The premium is N15, 000 for setup and N10, 000 for subscription, the Pro, which is the e-commerce website goes for N20, 000 and monthly subscription for N15, 000.’’ Babatunde stressed that it was necessary for start-ups to own their websites “as it is far better and cheaper than the traditional means of reaching out to their clients.’’
“SMEs can leverage on this for their clients to reach out to them because it could be very expensive to do the traditional radio and television adverts.
“But with the website, it is a room for you to bridge the cyber optic level and reach as many clients as possible.
“You cannot have a global business without having a website and our service will help the government to promote small business with ICT even as the government is looking for other avenues to diversify the economy.
“The web gives the best room to get that cyber presence needed at the cheapest and most friendly rate”
