20 Boats To Berth At Bonny Jetty – Commissioner

missioner for Transport, Deacon Akie Dagogo Fubara, said the Bonny, Bille, Nembe Jetty platform when completed will accommodate over 25 double engine speedboats loading passengers at the same time.
Fubara made this known during the ground breaking ceremony of the jetty at the Bonny, Bille, Nembe waterfront in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
The commissioner hinted that the essence of the flag -off of the project was to provide a safe environment for people at the marine corridor, adding that it would be equipped will modern facilities to ameliorate the sufferings and difficulty faced by the transporters and their passengers.
He disclosed that the terminal building of the jetty would have arrival and departure halls, four kilometers wallways to take the volume of passengers, restaurants, clinic, convenience, and police and Navy posts.
The state transport boss also hinted that the project would include a dockyard, car parking space, lock-up shops among others, adding that it had further shown the government desire to transform the state and the transport sector for the good of its citizens.
Fubara appealed for all hands to be on deck to actualise the dreams of the state government in delivering quality services and project as part of its new vision for the state.
He recalled that the Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, recently also commissioned the Okrika landing jetty and provided gunboats to beef up security and safety of lives and property of the Riverine communities in the state.
