Seme Customs Generates N695m Revenue
The Customs Area
Controller, Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr Victor Dimka said the command recorder an upsurge in its revenue drive as it generated over N695 million for the month of June.
Dinka said, “The N695 million generated for the month represented about 69 per cent monthly target for the command”.
The customs boss disclosed that the command made a total number of 64 seizures with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N37 million during the period under review.
He said the increase in the June figure compared to the last two months indicated a gradual increase in the economic activities across the land border.
According to him, the increase in the revenue figure might be attributed to the commencement of the flexible Foreign Exchange Policy of the Federal Government that allowed the determination of the exchange rate by the market forces.
Dimka also attributed the increase to the commitment and dedication of his officers and men to the tripartite function of the service.
He noted that the service as a Vanguard of Change, it is inevitable that Seme command is experiencing change as such compliance becomes the only alternative to drive down the agenda and the policy trust of the Comptroller General of Customs, Col Hammed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) and the Federal Government.
