Oil, Gas Free Zone, Stakeholders To Partner On Industrialisation
The Managing Director
of Oil and Gas Free Zone (OGFZ), Onne, Rivers State, Hon Victor Alabo has reiterated that the free zone would synergise with other critical stakeholders in the industry to ensure that the Federal Government’s vision of industrialising the economy of the country becomes a reality.
Alabo, who made this known while fielding questions from Journalists at a retreat held at Onne recently said the workshop was to raise an economic think-tanks to workout modalities on employment generations in the country.
He explained that the retreat emphasised on non-oil and gas sectors’ contribution to the nation as well as address ways of diversifying the economy of the country to other areas such as agriculture, real estate, solid minerals, and entertainment among others.
The Managing Director noted that the main focus of government was to develop small and medium scale entrepreneurs on economic development, adding that the synergy with other stakeholders would help boost the economy of the country.
Earlier, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okechukwu Enelama lauded the Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zone, Hon Victor Alabo for his vision, saying that the retreat had fashioned out strategy to industralised the nation.
Enelama opined that the Federal Government would give priority attention to agriculture, security and, corruption as a way to move the country forward.
According to him, the rumours that the Lagos, Warri and Brass Oil and Gas Free zones are illegal is far from truth, saying that they are all legal investments.
Meanwhile , some stakeholders have rated the Oil and Gas Free Zone high in her activities of economic development to the nation.
