Rule With Fear Of God, Kattey Tells Wike
The ArchBishop, Province of Niger Delta and Bishop, Diocese of Niger Delta North, Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey has urged the Governor-elect of Rivers State, to rule with the fear of God to enable him succeed in his administration as governor of Rivers State.
The Archbishop gave the charge during a special church service held at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Garrison, to herald a week-long activities for the inauguration of Chief Wike as governor of Rivers State.
Delivering his homily during the Special dedication service, the Archbishop admonished the governor-elect to run an inclusive government and embark on programems and projects that will have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
He cautioned against the involvement of clerics in partisan politics, and urged them to be neutral arbiters to intercede on behalf of political leaders in prayers.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Apostle Zilly Aggrey congratulated Wike over his electoral victory, and for choosing to dedicate his victory in the Church of God.
The CAN leader urged the governor-elect to direct his developmental programmes to impact the down trodden masses to attract divine blessings and ensure good governance in Rivers State.
The cleric also called on Rivers people to give their unflinching support to the Rivers governor-elect, and pointed out that “Wike’s success or failure would depend on follwership”.
In his vote of thanks, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austine Opara, said the dedication service was in appreciation of God’s favour in the electoral victory of the Wike Campaign Organisation.
He called on the Church leadership to always put the governor-elect in prayers to enable him succeed, adding that the incoming administration will bring about peace, and economic prosperity in Rivers State.
