Deaconess Ake A Good Mother, Christian – Amaechi
Rivers State Governor, Rt
Hon Chibuike Amaechi says late mother of Senator representing South West in the National Assembly, Deaconess Cecilia Eguma Ada Ake was a good mother and Christian who impacted positively on the lives of her children.
Speaking at the burial ceremony of the late centenarian in Erema Town in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area at the weekend, Amaechi observed that Senator Wilson Ake has lucky to have a mother blessed with longevity.
Amaechi said, “I pray that my mother should be 99 years old. Having seen a mother, you will know that she’s a good mother”.
He believed that Senator Ake’s good upbringing was as a result of his mother’s contribution.
Governor also lauded the church for celebrating Deaconess Ake, saying “I also believe that she’s a very good Christian. My prayer is may her soul rest in peace”.
Earlier, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Rivers State, Chief Godspower Ake, stepson of Deaconess Ake, described her as a mother to all.
“For many years, we have act had anyone live up to 80. She has given us hope and future. We are not mourning or crying but celebrating her life,” Chief Ake declared.
In the same vein, Senator Ake recalled that his mother was a cheerful, hardworking woman who touched the lives of all who came by her positively.
He thanked Governor Amaechi and his wife for honouring him with their presence, saying Amaechi has become a source of inspiration of the younger generation considering his commitment and hardwork to transform Rivers State.
Senator Ake also thanked members of the National Assembly, friends and well wishers for honouring his mother, and prayed God to bless all of them.
