Waste Managers Promise Effective Services
The Chairman of the Asso
ciation of Waste Managers (AWAM), Mr Bode Coker, has pledged to ensure waste free environment during the ongoing celebrations.
Coker told newsmen in Lagos State, that the association had concluded plans to increase waste evacuation routine during the easter celebrations.
“We still appeal to all residents to properly bag their waste for easy disposal; we are ready to go round our wards and districts to carry the waste.
“If we don’t show up, we will make alternative arrangements,” he said. He said that the essence of bagging the waste was to prevent the outbreak of disease, protect drains and canals from blockage and beautifying the environment.
Coker further appealed to residents who do not enjoy the services of the association to make a formal compliant, including their addresses for immediate response and action at Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) offices in the state.
He enjoined residents call the authority in case of waste management challenges or complaints.
