RSG Dedicates Ikuru Town To God
The serene community of Ikuru Town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State came alive at the weekend as dignitaries from all walks of life converged with anointed men of God to dedicate the land and its people to God.
Among the dignitaries were the wife of the state Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, the State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, the senator representing Rivers South East and Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Senator Magnus Abe, the member representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Hon. Dakuku Peterside, the state Commissioner for Works, Chief Victor Giadom, interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Dr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, and Chairman of Andoni LGA, Mr. Orom Nte Ereforokuma.
Leading the gospel ministers was the General Superintendent of Redemption Ministries, Reverend Steven Akinola, who while delivering a sermon before the dedication of the community to God, told the people that the only way to secure a fruitful future for their children is to hand over the town to Jesus Christ.
He recalled God’s faithfulness to the town in recent years, asserting that “God in His mercy has visited Ikuru Town and there is no limit to what He can do,” adding that the people should continue to praise God so He can bring His blessings to perfection.
In his remarks while handing over the community to God, the Okan-Ama of Ikuru Town, King Aaron Ikuru, appreciated God’s mercies in making him the head of the community, asking the Almighty God to take over and bless the people and the land.
The governor’s wife, Dame Judith Amaechi was later taken on an excursion of tourist attractions in the community such the Atlantic Beach, amongst others.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
