National Confab: Afenmai Forum Holds Mini-Dialogue,’Morrow
The Afenmai Forum in
Northern Senatorial District of Edo State, last Wednesday said it would hold a mini dialogue on February 15 to take a position on the proposed national conference.
This is contained in a statement signed by the President of the forum, Chief Joseph Arogundade, and Chairman Planning Committee, Dr Philip Ugbodaga in Benin.
According to the statement, the meeting is to fashion out an Afenmai position on various issues to be canvassed and modalities for the selection of Afenmai representatives to the conference adding that the group was not too comfortable with the modalities for the selection and the slot allocated to ethnic nationalities.
“It would, however, use the mini dialogue to take a position on the conference and other serious matters affecting Nigeria and our geopolitical zone”. Traditional rulers from the six local government councils that make up the zone were expected to attend the meeting, the statement indicated.
The statement noted that GovernorAdams Oshiomhole, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere and Senator Domingo Obende, hail from the zone.
