Community Leader Lauds RSUST VC Over Dev
The Vice Chancellor, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu, Port Harcourt, Prof Barineme Fakae has been lauded for his transformational leadership which has impacted positively on the development of the institution.
A community leader in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Echeful Felix who stated this while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt at the weekend, added that the Vice Chancellor had brought a lot of changes in the institution since his appointment.
Mr Echeful who is also chief protocol officer to the Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources noted that Prof Fakae’s administration had curtailed exam malpractices and sorting at the premier University of Science and Technology.
“Before his appointment as the acting Vice Chancellor of the university, the school was noted for sorting and examination malpractices, secret cult and other social vices, students hardly graduated from the institution but today all that has become a thing of the post,” he stated.
He explained that the university had attained a higher standard across the nation, adding that law graduates of the institution had continued to be the best graduating students at the various law schools in recent times.
Mr Echeful particularly expressed happiness over the digitalisation of the university by the present leadership, adding that such ICT driven institution would not only promote transparency in the administration but also enhance accessibility for the students and other people that may know about the school.
