Building Collapse: Perm Sec Wants Builders To Use Quality Materials
In order to reduce the inci
dence of building collapse, building professionals and constructors have been advised to always use quality and adequate materials in projects execution.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Ogun State, Mr. Lateef Oyewunmi, gave the charge in Abeokuta during his maiden meeting with staffers of the ministry.
He said the step would not only reduce the spate at which buildings were collapsing, but would also encourage clients to continue patronising the professionals.
According to him, best results in the industry can only be achieved with the use of quality materials.
“Any professional given the opportunity to carry out a task should be proud to say that I did that construction; do your work with passion and always ensure quality in all you do,” he said.
The Permanent Secretary promised a positive turn around in the ministry and called for the cooperation of the workers, urging them to be committed to their duties so that the dream of the state government of providing affordable housing schemes could be realised.
