NAMB Assures On Banks’ Patronage
The Chairman, Ikeja Branch of the National Association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB), Mr Dele Oyekanmi, says the forthcoming annual customers’ forum of the association is to encourage more Nigerians to embrace banking.
Oyekanmi told reporters recently in Lagos that the forum was timely in view of the CBN policy to bring all Nigerians into the banking net.
He said that the Lagos State Chapter of NAMB would host the forum which would come up on May 31 at the Lagos State Television Complex.
He said that the forum was also meant to sensitise customers on the relevance of microfinance banking to the growth of their businesses.
Oyekanmi said that the forum would also brainstorm on ways to accomplish the financial inclusion policy of the CBN.
“Microfinance banks deal with the grassroots, so they have a major role to play in the actualisation of the financial inclusion policy of the CBN, ’’he said.
Oyekanmi, who is also the Managing Director of Moneywise Microfinance Bank, said that resource persons were coming from the CBN, paramilitary organisations and financial institutions.
