Gunmen Kidnap Party Chairman In Bayelsa
Bayelsa State Chairman of the Change Advocacy Party(CAP) ,Mr. Deme Ikolomo has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen at his residence in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Ikolomo ,according to family sources was whisked off to unknown destination in the early hours of Friday by gun men numbering about 10 after they had shot sporadically in the air for more than 20 minutes before invading the home of their victim.
As at the time of reporting, the whereabouts of 41- year old Ikolomo was not known while no group has claimed responsibility for his abduction.
Both his family and party members are already making frantic efforts to trace the location of the chairman and his abductors.
A close aid to the CAP governorship candidate in the state, Jeremiah Owoupele, confirmed the kidnap of Ikolomo to our correspondent as he regretted his abduction.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Fidelis Odunna, said he was yet to receive the kidnap incident report of the party chairman.
This is coming 24 hours after six Russians and one Estonian who were working for Bourbon International Oil Limited at Pennington River, near Ezetu in Southern Ijaw local government of the state were kidnapped by gun men.
