‘Automation Will Not Lead To Staff Retrenchment’
Bauchi State Commissioner for Land and Housing, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, has assured his staff that none of them would be retrenched as a result of the automation of the activities of the Ministry.
Hammayo, who spoke with our correspondent on Tuesday in Bauchi, called on staff members to disregard speculations that some of them might lose their jobs.
He said that government would embark on the training of staff to be computer literate, adding that rationalisation would affect only those that wanted to leave voluntarily.
“I want to debunk the rumour making rounds that some of our staff may be retrenched due to this new system. It is not so.
“We will train all the staff in computer appreciation for effective function.
“Also, we will make sure that all of them are given duties to be part of this great revolution that will put Bauchi State in good stead for transparent and accountable land administration in the country.”
Hammayo said the automation would be a revenue generating project for the state, adding that land was one important source of revenue generation.
It would be recalled that the Bauchi State Executive Council recently endorsed plans by the Ministry of Lands and Housing to completely automate its operations.
