Legislator Assures Constituents Of Democracy Dividends
The member representing Tai constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chief (Hon) Felicia Taneh, has assured the people of her constituency that her second tenure will bring more dividends of democracy to the area.
Taneh who said this in an exclusive interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt said that her second tenure will not be a disappointment to the people of Tai.
The legislator also commended the electorates in the area for the confidence responsed in her be giving her a second term mandate to serve them in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
In her words, “I feel very happy to be elected by my people. I congratulate them because if they did not come out en mass to vote for me. I would not have been part of the second term.” Taneh also paid glowing tribute to the Rivers State governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his support during and after the election pointing out that it is a reflection of the positive desire which the Governor has foe the people of Tai Local Government Area.
The legislator who also commended the leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP) for giving her the mandate to serve her people for the second term, noted that the situation had shown that the party truly cares for its members. She commended the Representative elect for the Tai Eleme/Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Mpigi, Chief and security agencies for ensuring peace during the election.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
