13 Corpers To Repeat Service In Bayelsa
13 out of 1,789 ‘B’ National Youth Service Corps members deployed to Bayelsa State in 2009 are to repeat their service year.
Also within that period one female corps members, Miss Amagbaduba Ilenedioubagba with registration No. BY/09B/1880 died in active service.
Secretary to Bayelsa State Government, Chief Gideon Ekeowei, who disclosed this during the passing out parade of Batch “B”, said others successfully completed their assignment.
Chief Ekeowei stated that those whose service year were extended were found guilty of several offences contrary to the rules and regulations of the NYSC scheme.
He, however, urged the out- going members to be ambassadors of the state and wish them the best of luck as they go into the labour market.
The state Co-ordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Neena Ukonu, thanked both the state government and traditional rulers in the state for providing enabling environment that ensured successful completion of corps members’ primary assignment in the state.
She advised them to remember all the things they have learned while in the state as they go into the wider world.
Highlights of the occasion was giving of award to 10 corpers who distinguished themselves during the service year.
