Senator-Elect Unveils Book With N5m
As a way of encouraging the writing of books, the first female Senator-elect, in Rivers State Hon. Apiafi Betty, has unveiled a book titled “the Cross of Jesus Christ its message and Power with the sum of five million Naira.
Apiafi who was elected to represent Rivers West Senatorial District, during the unveiling of the book said the author should be encouraged for taking the bold step of putting into paper the travail which metamorphosed into the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
She said the book would help in updating true reasons which led to the dead of Jesus Christ and on the need for Christians to reflect the supreme prize Jesus Christ paid to redeem mankind.
She commended the author, Pastor Chukwugoziam Onianwah for the courage to put to paper issues that led to the dead, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ which she said came at this right time.
Speaking to journalists, the author Pastor Onianwah said the message was aimed at reviving the Church and preaching the goodnews.
Pastor Onianwah said the Cross which is the number one message in Christianity should be preached by clergymen rather than miracles and wonders which according to him should be secondary.
As a Minister, let your conscience tell you to preach the message of the Jesus Christ dead for mankind and salvation rather than miracle.
He said having got the vision in 2014 at the Airport, he decided to let the world know what the Cross of Jesus Christ meant to every human adding that without the Cross no Christianity.
He said the Cross of Jesus Christ is the most significant event in the history of humanity and it is a demonstration of God’s love for humanity, and carrier of power.
Also, the Rivers State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Apostle Dimkpa Stanley said CAN in Rivers State is a United body aimed at rewriting wrongs and reposition CAN.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
