‘Super 4 Win Will Lift Akwa Utd’
Akwa United returnee
striker Ubong Ekpai has said the success of his team at the just-ended pre-season Super 4 will serve as morale booster to his team as they aim high in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Akwa United won the 2015 Federation Cup and will open their Confederation Cup campaign on February 13 against V Club Mokanda in Pointe Noire.
Ekpai, who has returned after a season at Kano Pillars, said winning the trophy ahead of league champions Enyimba and Warri Wolves was a good morale booster.
“Winning the Super 4 was good for us, it’s going to spur us to greatness in the CAF Confederation Cup,” he said.
“We can surprise the world in the Confederation Cup.”
