NAHCON Airlifts11,322 Pilgrims To Saudi Arabia
The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), says 11,322 pilgrims have so far been airlifted to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj.
NAHCON’s Head of Media and Publicity, Alhaji Uba Mana, said on Friday in Abuja, that the pilgrims were airlifted in 25 flights from various states.
Mana also said five aircraft would depart Abuja, Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna and Maiduguri on Friday with a total of 2,400 pilgrims.
“Things are really picking up in that we will not have problems as regard transporting the pilgrims.
“Also as the representative of the Federal Government and the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, everything will be properly done,’’ he said.
He added that 90 officials of the commission were already in Saudi Arabia to cater for the needs of pilgrims.
Our correspondent reports that the five airlines contracted to airlift pilgrims to Saudi Arabia are Kabo, Max, Medview, Meridian and Trade craft.
