The Matron of the Home, Sister Jane Raphael, who expressed concern over during the donation of food and gift items by the Rivers State chapter of the Surveyors Wives Association in Port Harcourt said that 13 of the cases were in the female ward, while three were in the male ward.
Sister Raphael cited the case of an 80-year-old woman from Enugu State were abandoned in the home by the only daughter said to be married to a Ghanaian without bothering about the condition of her mother.
She said that the situation had continued to impact negatively on the Home, and used the opportunity to call on those whose loved ones were in the home to show love, care and support to them.
