Improving On Forefathers’ Legacies, My Priority -Technocrat
The Bursar, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Dr. Nicholas Nkwohi, says improving on the legacies of Rivers State leaders and forebears remains his top priority.
Calling on the youths of the State to do same in order to build a better Rivers State, over the weekend, during conferment of an Award of Excellence on him by “Coalition of Supporters of Democracy and Good Governance”, he stated that “any time opportunity comes to serve the State, I will do it with vigor.
“There’s dignity in being a good Ambassador of my State.
“The youth should refrain from social vices inimical to the development of the State, they should embrace peace, and support constituted authorities in the State to make it better”, he said.
While urging other youth bodies to emulate the Coalition of Supporters of Democracy and Good Governance in making Rivers State investors haven, Nkwohi commended the efforts of the present administration and past in both infrastructural and human capital development, saying, “it has brought us to limelight”.
Describing Alvan Ikoku College of Education as “a strong teaching institution” that has helped in building and training great leaders of repute, the Bursar expressed joy over the support he had enjoyed among colleagues, Rector and students of the Institution.
Earlier, Coordinator of Coalition of Supporters of Democracy and Good Governance, Comrade Bobmanuel Garshion, said the group decided to honour him as part of efforts to encourage professionalism and proficiency in management.
While noting that the group, with members across board, deem it fit to honour an illustrious son who has contributed immensely to the development of humanity, Bob Manuel described the receptant as proud of the youth and State in general, and urged him to make himself available any time the youths beck-on on him.
