Cell phone Dealers Make Case For Permanent Site
Telecommunication dealers in Rivers State have called on the state government to provide a permanent site for them to expand their making the call at a retail outlet along Aba/Port Harcourt Express Way, a dealer Mrs Ihuoma Amadi said the present location has become too tight for them.
She said most dealers now operate from their homes due to lack of space in the market.
Amadi said that, it a permanent site was allocated to them, it will not only address their present plight, but would also solve unemployment issue as more people would join the business.
She explained that most school leavers/graduates now find it easy to be self-employ than roaming the streets in search of white collar jobs which according to her were hard to come by.
The cell phone dealer, said they had recently written to the state government about the present predicament but were yet to be replied.
Others told our reporter that part of their plights was the multiple taxation they experience from the leadership of Obio/Akpor Local Governemnt Council.
He alleged that they admitted pay hugev amount of money to the OBALGA coffers annually, but regretted that it remained adamant to their plight.
They hinted that they will prefer any strategic plot along Aba/Port Harcourt Express Way, to enable customers locate them with ease.
Meanwhile, the dealers hare also enrouted their appealthrough commissioner for lands/Survey, Hon Barr Ezemonye Ezekiel-Amadi to the state government.
