Just last week, Davido was unveiled as the official brand ambassador of foremost tooth paste brand ‘Close-Up’ produced by Unilever.
Shortly after the unveiling ceremony which took place at Protea Hotel in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Davido disclosed that he had something cooking for Close Up in his forthcoming album, a track that will celebrate the brand and also express his appreciation for the brand for the endorsement deal.
The confident young singer teased that the song had not been completed yet and he would definitely get back to his writing pad as he had enough inspiration to continue with the song making.
On his academics, he revealed that he had just concluded his final year Exams and he dashed down from school to the event premises. He expressed much delight about serving his nation in the next few months. He said he would now have more time to concentrate on major projects and his career.
Davido stated that his album will be out on the 8th of June this year and his fans should watch out for a much better tunes from him. The “Omo Baba Olowo” expressed much more delight when asked if Close Up was the right brand for him to work with at the moment as the brand Building Director of the brand, David Okeme, had listed him most capable of the job because Davido typifies values.

Earlier in its release cycle, the film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, revealed that Behind The Scenes smashed five opening-weekend records, including the highest single-day gross ever recorded on Boxing Day, with ?129.5 million in one day. That announcement already hinted that something unusual was unfolding.
Reacting to the milestone, FilmOne described the moment as both surreal and communal, crediting audience loyalty for pushing the film to the top spot once again as the number-one movie of the weekend. And that sentiment feels accurate. This wasn’t just ticket sales; it was momentum.
What makes this achievement even more striking is that Behind The Scenes is Funke Akindele’s third film to cross the ?1 billion mark. Before now, there was A Tribe Called Judah, and then Everybody Loves Jenifa, a film that didn’t just open big, but went on to become the highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time. At this point, it’s no longer a fluke. It’s a pattern.
