2023: Cleric Tasks Christians On Faithfulness
A Senior Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Prince Borloo 1, has urged Christians to be faithful and devoted to the service God and humanity to earn divine blessings.
Borloo 1, who is the Area Pastor in charge of Peter’s Boat Area, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Macoba, Port Harcourt, gave the charge during a special church service tagged, “Youth/ Young Adult Sunday” to mark the beginning of the New Year.
The pastor, who described 2023 as the year of application of the acquired knowledge of God to earn His blessings, urged members of the church and the entire Christian community to hold on to God’s promises by keying into the activities laid out for the year such fasting and prayers, charity works for spiritual edification and God’s blessing.
He urged Christians to be vigilant in carrying the divine mandate of the ‘Great Commission’, which was to win souls for Christ through global evangelism.
Borloo 1 added that the Peter’s Boat Area would organise special seminars underthe series: ‘train the trainer’ as part of measures to upgrade the performances of workers and ministers of the church as well as embark in the building of the church’s main auditorium.
The cleric called on Christians to participate in the process of governance to bring dignity and rectitude into society’s leadership, and urged Christian faithful not to show apathy but come out enmasse to exercise their franchise by electing leaders of their choice in the upcoming general election.
The cleric, who was optimistic of credible polls, called for peaceful conduct of the elections, and urged youths to resist the temptation of being used as pawns in the power game.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
