#StartUpSouth, AfriLabs Begin PH Innovation Ecosystem Tour
StartupSouth-Innovation, an ecosystem development and advocacy organisation, and AfriLabs, a Pan-African Network of Innovation Hubs, have announced the beginning of a two-day Port Harcourt Innovation Ecosystem Tour, today.
The Innovation tour will see the Executive Director of AfriLabs, Anna Ekeledo; and the Convener of #StartupSouth, Uche Aniche; visit Startups’ offices, hubs, media outlets, investors and key policy makers in one of Nigeria’s largest and fastest growing economies.
Other activities planned as part of the tour include a Hub Leaders Seminar, a startup meet-up by Futuresphere BI Hub and a dinner for select stakeholders.
In a statement, made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, yesterday, Uche Aniche said the tour was a continuation of the wider pan-regionals conference held October/November annually.
The statement said, “In November, 2021, we had the Enugu Innovation Tour with the UNDP #ACCLab Team, and then hosted the Nigerian Communications Commission Team in Enugu.
“We are beginning May, 2022, with the Port Harcourt Innovation Ecosystem Tour which will form part of #StartupSouth7 prelude activities, and I am excited to host Anna Ekeledo, ED at AfriLabs from May 4-5, 2022. Also speaking, Executive Director of AfriLabs, Anna Ekeledo said, “The best way to understand the needs and realities of the local startup ecosystem is to listen to the stakeholders and engage with them. I am excited to engage with the Port Harcourt Innovation Community and share on how to better enable innovation, tech and entrepreneurship. We are also proud of the efforts of StartupSouth in hosting and organising this series of events.”
