Ikwerre Muslims Back RGS’s War Against ‘Kpo Fire’
The fight against illegal oil bunkering activities by the Rivers State Government has received the support of the Muslim Community in Ikwerre Ethic Nationality.
The President of the Ikwerre Muslim Association, Alhaji, AbubakarAsuru, lent his support to stop ‘Kpofire’ activities in the state, during the end of their forum’s meeting, in Port Harcourt.
The group also advised all her members against getting involved in illegal refining.
Asuru also commended the four Ikwerre Local Government Council chairmen for their support in the fight against illegal bunkering, and urged Rivers people who are involved in the activities, to desist from it to save lives.
The Muslim cleric called for the unity of Ikwerre Muslims in Rivers State, and urged all Muslims to promote peace and religious tolerance among the people of the state.
He called on Rivers State Government, to as matter of urgency, roll out social interventions programs for youths in the state in other not to indulge in other criminal activities.
Asuru, while speaking on the removal of manholes on the road, condemned the act by scavengers, and supported the government efforts in dealing with anyone caught in the act.
The forum also explained that AlhajiAbubakarOrlu, was the leader of Ikwerre Muslims in the state.
