PDP Stalwart Lauds Security Agencies Over Monarch’s Release
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Rivers State local government elections, in Andoni Local Government Area of the State, Barrister Erastus Awortu, has commended the efforts of the security agencies for securing the release of the Paramount ruler of Ikuru Town in Andoni Local Government Area of the State , King Aaron Ikuru.
Erastus in a press statement also commended all stakeholders and people of Andoni for their commitment and prayers toward the safe release of the King from abductors.
The PDP candidate warned those involved in criminality to desist from the Andoni territory or face the full wrath of the law.
Ikuru who was abducted on the 21st of February from his palace at Ikuru town was released at a forest in Abissa, Akuku -Toru Local Government Area the State.
King Ikuru has been held in captivity for a month.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officers, Mr Nnamdi Omoni in a press statement noted that the king was rescued in synergy with the Navy, while one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested.
Mr Omoni said in the course of investigation, the suspect gave useful confessions that led the operatives to a forest in Abissa, where the Monarch was eventually rescued, unhurt.
