RSG To Commence Sensitisation On Army Recruitment

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has assured the Nigerian Army of its readiness to commence sensitisation of youths on the need to join the Armed Forces.
The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the Director, Directorate of Army Recruitment, Nigerian Army Headquarters, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Akpan in Port Harcourt.
He commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Turkur Buratai for ensuring that every region of the country is sensitized to benefit in its recruitment exercise.
He promised to ensure that Rivers youths are properly sensitized when the recruitment exercise begins.
He further eulogized the effort of the GOC which is being felt on the security situation of the State as the Newsline on Rivers State has improved with more peace and tranquility being enjoyed by the people.
“We appreciate your effort and also the Garrison Commander who is always available to assist us”, he said.
The Director, Directorate of Army Recruitment, Brig Gen. Emmanuel Akpan revealed that the Army is on a nationwide sensitization tour to update citizens on the new Army recruitment exercise.
He emphasized that, the Army has evolved its training and recruitment strategies to build soldiers who can think creatively and fight, take strategic and delicate decisions with little or no supervision and rationalize actions.
