Sowore, Bakare Perfect Bail Conditions
The convener of #Revolution Now protest, Omoyele Sowore, has perfected his bail conditions.
One of Sowore’s lawyers, Inibehe Effiong, disclosed this on his twitter page.
He stated that Omoyele Sowore had completed his bail conditions as stated by the court.
According to him: “I left Sowore and Mandate at the SSS headquarters some minutes ago. I can confirm that the SSS has been served with the order of the Federal High Court ordering their release having perfected their bail conditions. We are waiting for compliance. I cannot say more than this now”.
Effiong earlier tweeted that all administrative processes surrounding Sowore’s bail had been concluded and the release order for Sowore and mandate had been signed by Justice Ojukwu.
The court on October 4 granted Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare bail on certain conditions, which the applicants considered stringent for which they approached the court for variation.
However, the State Security Service (SSS) has denied claims by lawyers representing the detained publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, that they were being prevented from taking Sowore after meeting his bail conditions, last Wednesday.
The SSS spokesperson, Peter Afunaya, in a text message midnight Wednesday said the claims by Sowore’s lawyers that the publisher was denied bail after meeting his conditions were false.
“This not true. The SSS has not been informed by the judicial authorities or any legal representatives that the bail conditions have been met accordingly. The media shouldn’t allow itself to be used as agents of misinformation,” Afunaya said.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
