Pray For Nigeria’s Unity, Ayade Charges Pilgrims
The Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, has enjoined the state contingents to Saudi Arabia to pray for the unity and indissolubility of Nigeria while they are in the holy land for this year’s Hajj.
Ayade also charged the state’s pilgrims to pray for the successful industrialization policy of his government while in Mecca.
The governor, who made the call while addressing the state’s pilgrims at the VIP Lounge of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, said he was very proud of the pilgrims for their conduct so far, urging them to pray for Nigeria and her leaders while in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
While commending the Muslim community in the state for supporting his government to industrialize Cross River, Ayade said the prosperity agenda of Nigeria has no religious or ethnic coloration but unity of purpose.
“I am very happy for the pilgrims from Cross River State who are going to the holy land to pray for the state and Nigeria, you will go safely and return safely, please, make Cross River and Nigeria proud while in the holy land.
“Your greatest prayer is to ensure that Nigeria remains safe, united, indivisible and strong. I believe in the oneness and growth of this country and you should put that in prayers too in Saudi Arabia.
“The prosperity agenda of this country has no religious or ethnic coloration. That is why we must come together as a people to make the country great once again,” the governor admonished.
Ayade also reminded the pilgrims to pray for his good health in order for him to continue to pilot the affairs of Cross River State to his envisioned destination that will bring about prosperity for the people.
“As you go to the holy land, please pray for Cross River State, pray for Nigeria, pray for my good health to enable me take the state to the enviable heights and most importantly, pray for the continuous industrialization of Cross River.
“The Muslim community in Cross River State has been of support to my government, they have lived in peace with one another without any crisis anywhere in the state and I want that you to continue in that spirit.
“As a state, we will continue to live together as one indivisible family, and I want to assure you that I am very proud of all of you,” Ayade assured.
