Declare Your State Of Health Now, Onitiri Tells Buhari
A Lagos Central Senatorial candidate of the Peopes Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Adesunbo Onitiri, has tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to declare his state of health to the nation, particularly his mental and physical health as Nigerians are very eager to know.
According to him, the declaration by the President will enable Nigerians to know his fitness to contest the coming elections.
This request was contained in a press statement he issued in Lagos at the weekend.
Nigerians, he noted, had failed to ask for this in the last election in 2015 saying “Our huge resources went into medical bills abroad” which should have been used to provide good roads, build good hospitals and schools for our citizens.
He added: “Besides, the economy of our nation stood still during the three months the President was bedridden”.
Onitiri accused the president of flagrant violation of the constitution, saying that the country should be governed strictly on the rule of law just as it is not a banana republic.
He also called on the National Assembly to rise up and defend the nation’s fledgling democracy and not allow it to be scuttled, adding that the country belongs to all and urged the international community and the NBA to wade in quickly to defend democracy and Rule of Law.
“Nigerians will like to know the total amount spent on his health during the period he stayed abroad for treatment.
“As he rode to power through Transparency and Accountability he should live by example by showing transparency on the oil subsidy”, he said.
