Nigeria’s Economy Better Under Jonathan -PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government, claiming that the former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan managed Nigeria’s economy better than incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari.
The PDP’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi made this claim while speaking with reporters shortly after the installation of Adebutu and his wife as the Otunba Badekale of Makun, Sagamu and Yeye Otunba Badekale of Makun, Sagamu by the Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu, Oba Timothy Akinsanya.
The PDP deputy national chairman argued that Nigerians would vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in 2019 as a result of economic mismanagement and widespread hardship in the country.
Akinwonmi declared that the people had tasted the two political parties, and now were fully aware that the PDP was far better than the APC.
He lamented that life had become unbearable for Nigerians, claiming that it was for that reason that they were now turning to the PDP for solutions.
“People turned to us because APC has disappointed them. Life is unbearable to people; hardship, suffering, hunger, poverty is everywhere.
“Our people have tasted the two parties, they now know the best. We have never had it this bad in Nigeria. We don’t have time for wailers; we are focused about the elections. All we want is to win elections,” he stated.
The PDP chieftain pointed out that a dollar was exchanged for N180 during President Jonathan’s administration but lamented that it was now N360 to a dollar, claiming that the incumbent government had no ideas on how to turn the economy around.
