Magu’s Fate Hangs In Limbo …As Osinbajo, Others Review Response To Query
The fate of the Acting
Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, now hangs in the balance as a three-man team has been mandated to review his response of to a query issued to him by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
They are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the AGF.
Already, Magu has sent copies of his response to the VP and the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
A source said: “Magu has sent his response to the query to AGF Malami with copies made available to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“Basically, he denied all the allegations of fraud levelled against him. He insisted that he was never fraudulent in any manner whatsoever.
“A three-man team, including the VP, the AGF and the DG of DSS, is reviewing the response. The team may come up with some recommendations for the President.
“What is certain is that the President will have the opportunity to hear all sides of the allegations against Magu.”

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
