RSG Recommits To Widows’ Welfare
The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, says the present administration is committed to improving the welfare of widows in the state.
Banigo stated this while speaking at the “Rivers Widows Praise” programme designed to glorify God and seek divine direction for good governance, peace and prosperity of the state.
The yearly programme, which is at the instance of the deputy governor, attracted widows from virtually all the 23 local government areas in the state.
The deputy governor, who was represented by the wife of the General Overseer of Kingdom Life Gospel Church, Pastor Esther Uzosike, said the programme was aimed at thanking God for the remarkable achievements of the present administration in the last 16 months, and posited that the vision of the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration could be accomplished through regular praise and intercession by the citizens.
“The best way to get more from God is to thank Him for what He has done. This is why we are here to thank him for our achievements so far,” she asserted.
Banigo assured the people of the state, that God is perfecting every good works started by the present administration in the state, while urging widows to see themselves as agents of peace and stability in the society.
Earlier in her exhortation, the wife of the former National Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Pastor Ene Secondus, explained that God is moved to answer prayers when widows call on Him, assuring that God was moving to stop every unrest and trouble in Rivers State.
The event featured the presentation of cash and gift items by the deputy governor to the widows.
